    4. Mezulthazar The greatest

Probably my favourite version of monopoly and given the choice I would much prefer this over the original. Don’t get put off by the bigger size, the bus tickets and speed dice really add to the movement of the game. Plus, once everything is bought out there are elements that force players to move to the next owner property so that rent is paid. The pacing is really good and the extra models make skyscrapers and train depots really profitable

Don’t read all the negative comments. It’s the best Monopoly I ever played. It’s so much fun and all my friends and family love it. We spend hours playing it. And it’s more fun because you get more properties, train depots, sky scrapers and bus tickets 🙂

Purchased for my son’s birthday. Played by my four teenage sons. Great board game. Especially once you have played the original monopoly. They all love it and have played it several times. A great way to pass an afternoon and will be taking it on our camping holiday later in the year. Well worth the purchase if you are a fan of board games and Monopoly.

It’s a long game made to a high standard, you’ll need most of the day to play it.

Mega Edition is the way forward, rest assured this is the most recent and refined iteration of the Mega series; at the time of writing, the images on this product’s page are of an older Mega version; the money is, thankfully modernised, and the board, and the chance/community chest cards have now been updated to be more inclusive of the new game elements, amounting to a beautifully presented update to the classic game. Several additions greatly spice things up you’ll want to memorise the new rules before your first game!

The box displays a blue speed die, but as with other versions, you’ll receive a red one, and I, being the geeky games enthusiast I am, bought a set of matching red dice to replace the ones that come in the box. Unity!

I’ll say a two player game isn’t much of a challenge as you need own only 2/3 or 3/4 sites of a colour set to begin buying properties; it costs more to block others, but I can see this playing out rather well with three or more participants bartering for deeds in the battle for board domination. Additionally, the speed die, while a powerful tool for property acquisition, can make the late game a little drawn out as rolling a Mr Monopoly (present on two sides of the die) will eventually have you bypassing all house-heavy sites in order to advance to the properties no-one wanted or could afford to buy, which does, however, encourage the formation of new competitive strategies.

New game mechanics I love include the bus tickets, used to advance to any space on the same side of the board, and the birthday square, the pleasant counterpart of “Super Tax”, now named “Bank Deposit”, which I feel will sit a little lighter on my conscience. Adopted from earlier titles are the lofty Skyscrapers, which cost little more than a hotel to build and will rake in crazy levels of cash, and introducing train depots, which will double your railway income.

That’s enough spoilers, it’s a largely updated game and it’ll be exciting to unravel further mysteries on your own, buy now and forever hold your deeds.

Got this years ago, in good condition still.

It’s one of the best monopoly variants. It’s basically the same, but bigger. And we all know bigger is usually better.

Sets have an extra property each, so there are 3 browns and purples (AKA dark blue), and 4 of the rest.

It’s been a tiny while since i’ve played properly, but I think there are some new rules in to accommodation the expanded game.

Personally we tend to play “Spiral Monopoly”, with a regular size board inside the Mega board. It fits really neatly! So when you’ve done a lap of the Mega board, you then need to do a lap of the regular board. It adds another couple of hours to the gametime (a regular game should take about 2 hours for 4 players, any longer and you’re probably doing it wrong!) but I love it.
