This has a good selection of botanicals to infuse flavours into your whiskey.
The tin it comes in for storage matches the 12 small round tins that contain the botanicals. The lids screw off and the contents are kept fresh inside.
This is so simple to use and you get instructions on what flavours would work well together. You need to infuse in a jar or bottle for best results.
This would make a Lovely gift and affordable at less than £25. You could reuse the tins after they empty and it’s a good way to experiment with your flavour combinations. Recommended.

The set comes with a really nice range of botanicals in cute little tins, sadly not all of them were completely closed. It also comes with a nice little instruction manual explaining, not only what each one will taste like, but how long to infuse it for. It suggests infusing a small amount at a time (in jam jars) to see what you like. So far we’ve only tried a couple of them but enjoyed them both. Tip: Don’t use a 25 year old single malt! We bought some cheap bourbon and these botanicals not only completely changed the taste, but also took the sharp edges off a pretty rough whisky. One thing which would have been nice is if the kit included a small funnel/sieve as some of the botanicals do need to be strained after infusion. Highly recommended – make mine a double!

I always get my son-in-law whisky for his birthday and this was the perfect accompaniment I have to admit to being unsure of his reaction to his adding things to his favourite tipple, but after trying a couple of them he is quite impressed, and especially likes the zingyness of allspice berries and black cardamon.
According to the instructions it is best if you give the spice plenty of time to infuse into the whisky.
The kit is beautifully presented in a proper hinged tin with seperate little tins for the spices, and would make a festive present to a whisky lover, around Christmas time.

I have to admit, I have never thought of adding anything to my usual whisky – unless it’s part of a cocktail. However, as this infusion set shows anything is possible.

I am first of all really impressed with the value for money with this set, you receive 12 different botanical ingredients to infuse to your whiskey and each pot has a generous amount that will last a long time.
The set arrives in a lovely tin with a wonderful design on the front, inside you will find all the individual screw-top tins with the different botanicals inside. Each tin has the label clearly displayed on the top so you can easily select the botanical you want.
I tried infusing a whiskey with a combination of ginger and lemongrass, I only need to use a little of each to a jam jar of whiskey and it couldn’t be simpler, I popped the ingredients in the bottle, gave it a good shake and left it for 5 days. The results were fantastic, you could really taste the ingredients I had added but it wasn’t overpowering, I feel that you can really experiment with the flavour combinations and strengths with the amount you use.
Fantastic kit that is presented very well, wonderful gift to anyone who enjoys whiskey!
