Such a cute little activity. You’ll get the farm to yourself and there’s lots of friendly animals to meet. We brushed some goats, stoked some sheep, walked a pony, cuddled some snakes, met the cats and guinea pigs. Ideal for younger families and for those who like a more personal experience.

Having bought a meerkat experience as a gift for my brother and his girlfriend and seen photographs of them with meerkats climbing all over them, I was really excited to receive the same gift in return for myself and my young son. However, the location I chose for our experience did not allow handling of the meerkats – it was a much smaller zoo with only five meerkats and, although an enjoyable and informative experience, we were disappointed with the lack of contact. I respect the zoo and their reasons for this, but it would have been helpful if this information was included in the experience description, as I didn’t think to ask beforehand – I might then have chosen a different location and had a more hands-on experience.
