As the family are all together, we decided to ring the changes with games after lunch or dinner. We all thought we were great for our film knowledge – Wrong! A good team game but pretty testing on the grey matter!

Fun game but even the most know it all film buff will not be able to gloat as the answers are completely random and bear no semblances to reality so it means it’s really a game of chance and the more fun for it!

Absolutely fantastic game for hardened movie fans. Consists of three types of cards, where each person/team must like the best 3 of the 5 answers.
Well presented and good quality, would definitely recommend for movie fans who want more of a challenge than a box of trivia cards

A more accurate title might be “Internet Buff” because you’re naming films and actors based not on their actual popularity or the amount they took at the box office, but by their Critics ratings on Rotten Tomatoes or Google Trends. Hence, “badly researched”. Referencing these sources is just the quickest, cheapest way to create a quiz, but the result is frustrating questions with obscure and unexpected answers. And everyone knows the audience rating is the more important metric on Rotten Tomatoes as the critics do tend to favour certain types of films based on worthiness or other metrics irrelevant to the general audience. You’ll be asked to name the top 5 films by this actor. You’ll name 10 of his/her biggest and most well known films and get 1 out of 5, only to be told the answers and not have heard of any of them. You’ll name 5 world famous actors with the first name “John” only to get 1 out of 5 and be told the names of 4 obscure Johns you’ve never heard of. I guess with these sources there’s a bias towards more recent films and actors which are perhaps more prominent on these post 2000s sources. Quite deflating and disappointing for the general user looking for a fun family film based quiz.
