Full trust in this product, at first it did have a slight off taste but assuming just cause it was new, seems to have gone now, with the size you can take it anywhere and the lightweight of it means you can take it on big hikes with minimal impact in your rucksack!

When it comes to adventuring in the great outdoors, having access to clean drinking water is a top priority. The LifeStraw Personal Water Filter has become an essential companion for my outdoor expeditions, and I cannot recommend it enough.

    Design and Portability (5/5):
One of the first things that struck me about the LifeStraw is its sleek and straightforward design. It’s incredibly lightweight and compact, making it a breeze to carry in my backpack or even in my pocket. This filter takes up minimal space, which is a major plus when you’re trying to keep your gear load as light as possible. The convenience of being able to drink directly from a water source cannot be overstated.

    Filtering Efficiency (5/5):
The most crucial aspect of any water filter is its ability to remove contaminants effectively, and the LifeStraw excels in this regard. I have used it in a variety of environments, from clear mountain streams to questionable backcountry ponds, and it consistently delivered clean, safe drinking water. It filters out 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa, which provides peace of mind when you’re relying on it for your hydration needs.

    Ease of Use (5/5):
Using the LifeStraw is incredibly simple. Just dip the bottom end into your water source, and start drinking through the mouthpiece. There’s no need for pumping, batteries, or chemicals. It’s practically foolproof, and the flow rate is impressive, allowing for a quick and easy drinking experience.

    Durability (5/5):
I’ve put my LifeStraw through the wringer, subjecting it to various weather conditions and rough handling, and it has proven to be remarkably durable. It’s made to last, and the high-quality materials ensure it can withstand the rigors of outdoor adventures.

    Value for Money (5/5):
Considering its reasonable price point and the fact that it can filter up to 4,000 liters (or 1,000 gallons) of water, the LifeStraw is an incredible value. Whether you’re a backpacker, camper, hiker, or prepper, this is a must-have addition to your gear collection.

If you need to hook up a hose to this filter, the diameter is 3/8 and this hose fits perfectly:

In conclusion, the LifeStraw Personal Water Filter is a game-changer for anyone who enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. It’s simple, effective, and reliable, ensuring that clean drinking water is never a concern. This compact and lightweight device has earned its place as an essential part of my outdoor kit, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others who prioritize clean and safe hydration during their adventures.

Perhaps not the fanciest water filter on the market but it does exactly what it should, and does it very well. As a general rule I always boil water anyway after filtering but this stays in my rucksack and joins me on every wild camp I go on. So far filtered a few hundred litres and if you keep it clean it’ll do many more. Great bit of kit and very handy that you can screw it directly onto water bottles for easy filtering.

  4. Jack

Flawlessly works for ease of use and versatility. I like that the bottom unscrew to allow the use of a bottle. Very packable and convenient.

  5. Lisa c.

    Happy with the new version

  6. Michal Baczkowski

Bought with a sole purpose of filtering water during the 2 weeks trekking in Nepal and it did not disappoint. We filtered the water in every tea house on EBC + gokyo lake route without need of using puryfing tablets. Great flow rate and easy to use.
Pro tip if using in Nepal:
I tested all local bottled waters in Kathmandu and the only bottle that fit the thread on the lifestraw is ‘Kinley’

Everyone should have a lifeStraw product. As a precaution. Regardless of where you are or what you are doing. They will always allow you to drink any filthy water, even water rats have been swimming in! you will never know when you just might need it. And it’s so small, you won’t know it’s there until you need it. And you will be glad you had one!

  8. Adrien Nk

Perfect for what it’s make for

  9. Olga

Salimos de viaje y nos ayudó a limpiar el agua de un rio, muy practico

  10. C Hants

Purchased for home as water quality isn’t great to new homes and new works etc. once I had found the right screw thread bottle (fizzy drinks bottle) it’s easy to fill another bottle and put this in the fridge. This allegedly does 250k litres (?) if it does a tenth of that it is 100 times cheaper than other water filters. The water tastes better too.

  11. Grand Master Trash

As per title, used on a variety of water sources over several days, good compatability and versatility, used to fill both ordinary drinks bottles and camelbak as well as direct drinking, used to filter from one bottle to another container also, no issues excellent item.

  12. JJ

Havent used it yet. Smart new look. A little difficult to open, but going to be very useful.

  13. Jimmy toupin

    Semble de qualité. J’ai confiance.
