This sleep device works surprisingly well. Bought for my 9yo who struggles to fall asleep. It’s small, quiet, battery operated so doesn’t have a cord, and not loud or anything like that. Well done Dadow!! I’ve recommended it to a few people already within the first month of trying it

I had seen the bad product reviews on Amazon but thought I would give this a try. I get to sleep pretty well but something to destress and relax before sleep is a nice idea. The item is nicely packaged, reminiscent of Apple products and there is a small wad of instructions covering lots of European languages. The Dodow comes complete with everything you need to get started including 3 AAA batteries.
The Dodow consists of a small coffee coaster size disc around 1cm deep. The top is ‘touch sensitive’ and from the top there are the 3 blue LEDs that create the blue light on your ceiling. There are no switches or any other controls and there is exactly the problem. There are minimal instructions, on/off, 3 light settings and 8/20 min programme; simple enough you might think, not so.
All issues from what I can make out span from the ‘touch sensitive’ controls, this is not smart phone touch sensitivity far from it. The instructions make reference to ‘tapping’ the top of the device to control but a gentle tap is insufficient, as is a touch, somewhere inbetween is the sweet spot.
It also employs some time sentitive controls eg ‘tap and hold for 3 seconds’, sometimes this registers other times not, or its just faulty.
Generally the Dodow is a let down, looks great but terrible controls. And not worth trying it out for the hassle of having to return it.

As somebody who has always struggled to get off to sleep both at the start of the night and if I wake during the night (which I often do) I was keen to try Dodow. I received it as a Christmas present from my wish list, I had it at the top of the list as I was keen to give it a go.
The product is beautifully designed solid to the touch and feels like a quality item. The touch to turn it on is nice and you can select from 8 minutes to 20 minutes for the cycle to run. I found it very relaxing and before long it would only take me the 8-minute cycle to drop off to sleep.
There are two reasons why I didn’t give 5 stars – the first is probably just my problem but I am VERY short sighted and once I take my glasses off at night (as I have to so sleep) I can not really see the lights on the ceiling in all their glory, I can just about make out the lights getting bigger and smaller but not clearly. So yes this is a personal thing and very few people are as blind as me but I did find this an issue. Also on lighter evenings it is hard to see the lights on the ceiling and in a way it might have been better to develop a product that signals with some sort of heptic tap or signal so you could breath in time to this rather than having to have your eyes open to watch the lights, but maybe this would then wake you back up I know they did extensive testing on this.
So in summary: I do love it, if I had 20/20 vision I would probably really love it. It has helped me relax to drop off which is what it is designed to do after all.

This attractive little device has been very effective in helping me get to sleep quickly and easily. I have recommended it to several friends and clients. Easy to use, small and aesthetically pleasing, this sleep aid assists you to breathe in a way that encourages sleep; simultaneously, the soft blue light is mesmerising; trying to keep your eyes open to finish the cycle is the challenge: you win – by failing.
The idea is to train your body and brain to recognise the pattern of falling asleep, so the process begins to be faster by doing this each night. If I wake in the night, I touch the surface, and it quietly begins the program; I try to watch the light and synchronise my breathing, and before I know it, I’m back to sleep. The light is not intrusive – if someone has their eyes closed, they will not be aware of it at all – and as it is silent, that won’t be a problem either.
If you have trouble sleeping, I recommend this product.

Even before using this product I was aware of the usefulness of breathing exercise as a form of meditative relaxation to aid sleep and often found this a useful way to combat insomnia. This little unit helps to achieve this by giving you a non-intrusive light aid. I have used it several times and found it to be reasonably useful in maintaining breathing, especially as in the dark it is easy to lose concentration.
It would be perfect for me if you could somehow direct the beam as having my bed-side in a corner means that the beam is kind of squashed between the walls and ceiling. That could be solved by moving the unit of course, but as I said it would be great if there was a way to direct the beam so I didn’t have to.
All in all quite a nice unit but at the end of the day it’s basically just a pulsing light. You could probably get an app to do the same thing on your phone. I do think it’s quite expensive for what it is and I’m not entirely sure it’s worth the money. I suppose it depends on your personal taste and ease of access.
