The Giraffe experience was utterly fabulous. The keeper was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The Zoo itself is amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire day.

This was a 40th birthday gift for something I’ve wanted to do all my life.
It was a nightmare to book and when it finally came to the day, the keepers were bored, we did 10 minutes with the general public pushing us out of the way and joining in and the second 10 minutes feeding the male Giraffes in a more private setting but rushed and pushed.

The smell from the giraffe house was so bad we could not enter the building so the staff kindly switched us to meet the lemurs and gand feed them which was a lot of fun.

south lakes safari! The team were waiting for us as traffic made us a few minutes late. Our giraffe expert Emily spoke so knowledgeably about the giraffes and clearly loves looking after her animals in the Africa part of the zoo. She gave us lots of time with both the girls & the two boys. A dream to meet & feed the giraffes for me! I’m happy that SLS zoo are caring for the Kodorfan giraffes to help ensure the survival of the species!

The giraffe experience itself was lovely and staff were very knowledgeable. However the cost of the experience was very overpriced as you can book to do the hand feeding at the zoo for £5, and they do both sets of giraffes at different times of the day. You are paying for a smaller group and feeding one after the other, expensive in my opinion. The zoo itself was also very overpriced once inside. I will not be returning any time soon!

Absolute rip off! We paid a total of £130 (£65 each) for an experience that you could have for £20 each (£15 entry and £5 to do the public feed). The so called giraffe “encounter” lasted; at the most, 5 minutes. Even booking the experience was a nightmare. We were also told that we could only book at 10.30 but if you just turn up you can do it any time you want by just paying £5. Also, most of the animal enclosures were empty. Shambles from start to finish.

We met Ben the Giraffe keeper who was lovely and friendly and was very knowledgeable about the giraffes. I fed the willow branch’s which they came and stripped the leaves off to eat. They are very beautiful animals and have such pretty eyes close up.
The zoo and experience was very well run and we spent a great of few hours walking about, in some enclosures amongst the animals.
