Bought this for my partner as part of a little inside joke. Our son was/is a complete nightmare at night time and would protest like a madman in a jail cell for hours! Leaving me and my partner feeling like we were going insane. He laughed so hard on Fathers day when I gave this to him and switched on Samuel L Jacksons Version on Youtube. It is a silly book, but if you have a mini dictator of a child like ours, you kinda need to find a way to cope. Even if it is with silly little books! As the saying goes ” If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry”.

This made me laugh out loud. It is just what parents are secretly saying to themselves.
A perfect and short read for all parents out there. 😂

This is probably not a book you want to read your children as they get older and understand language a bit more because the title of the book is constantly repeated throughout. However, everytime my wife or I read this to our baby we die with laughter even though we know what it is going to say. If you are looking for a hilarious book while your baby is young enough not to really understand it – this is the one to get! It is funny not only for the title of the book repeated several times throughout but all the little ways parents get upset with their child when trying to lay them to sleep. This is a must get!!

Brilliant, very funny, so much like my sons real bedtime routine, he never goes straight to sleep. My son found it very amusing

I bought this for my sister who is the proud owner of 9 month old twins. The twins don’t yet understand what curse words are, so this book is perfect for keeping my sister sane while trying to get the little darlings to actually go to the land of nod, preferably at the same time and for the same length of time. As it was her choice to have babies and not mine, I can’t vouch for how successful this book is in actually getting said babies to go to sleep, since bedtime chores are her domain, and my role as auntie is to enjoy singing songs and playing with them; handing back at the first sign of tears or nappy filling.
However, it was worth buying this as a gift just to see my sisters little face on opening it, and to hear her laugh in a slightly strained way, and to see her eyes fill with something like hope at the prospect that this might actually work.

My wife’s best friend (Gigi) had a baby almost 6 years ago,a lovely little boy.
My wife asked me to buy him a present for his birthday but I have no idea what 6 year old boys are into. I suggested a driving lesson or a bottle of scotch….no,apparently that’s not appropriate!
I was told to get him a book.
My eyesight isn’t the best (I had an accident involving a can of spam and a dibber) and I didn’t even notice that this book was slightly rude.
Needless to say, I had to apologise profusely because he took it to school and read it out during assembly!
I think the book is hilarious, just not for younger people.
Lesson learnt 👍
