This thing is huge. Photos do not do it justice. You Tube videos don’t do it justice. I’m 65, in a wheelchair, no feeling in my right hand and no lift in either shoulder. I did my first Lego 10 weeks earlier (the UCS R2-D2). Challenge accepted.
The instruction book is beautiful, and must be a not insignificant part of the price, but it is too large and unwieldy. I used the pdf instructions on my iPad. I notice subsequent large builds employ multiple smaller books.
Once you have sorted the bags and worked out a strategy for separating the bricks in each step, away you go. You start off with a very solid internal frame made mostly from Lego beams; feet; internal rooms, 2 very detailed; side frames; front mandibles; lower cladding; air lock tunnels; lower gun turret; upper cladding; cockpit; upper gun turret. Your finished.
I gave myself a month to do it and took 27 days. With my disability I needed assistance to place a few panels, but not many. If I was designing it I would do some things differently. The mandibles are not supported adequately. Most of the upper cladding is held by one pin or gravity alone. The start of the build is precise and solid. The finish of the build is detailed but fragile with a somewhat sloppy feel. Initially I was disillusioned with the finish but it has grown on me. It is undeniably impressive. It demands attention.
It was definitely worth the investment in time and money. Now I’ve just got to find somewhere to put it.

La experiencia es inigualable: manual de instrucciones extenso, detallado, sin lugar a confusión (pero que tampoco te toma por tonto, se supone cierta experiencia). Embalaje perfecto y transporte impecable, llegada un día antes de lo previsto. Tienda recomendadísima 10/10!!

Nach 35 Jahren Lego-Abstinenz wollte ich es nochmal wissen und habe mir nach langem inneren Kampf dieses Teil gekauft.Und habe es nicht bereut.
Der Zusammenbau macht einfach Spaß,die Teile sind gut sortiert und die Anleitung ist,bis auf den zu weit hinten platzierten Zusammenbau des unteren großen Geschützes und die damit verbundenen Probleme,das Teil ohne Beschädigung des Falkens von unten zu montieren,gut gegliedert.
Das fertige Teil macht was her und ist so breit,daß man sich vorher einen Platz zum Hinstellen suchen sollte!
Das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis bewerte ich bei Star Wars Produkten grundsätzlich nicht gut,da die Lizenzen den Preis zu hoch treiben.Das hat mit der Qualität des Produktes nichts zu tun.Doch im Vergleich mit dem Supersternzerstörer,der gnadenlos überteuert ist,schneidet der Falke recht gut ab.
Über Haltbarkeit brauche ich wohl nichts zu sagen.
Zum verschenken ist Lego immer gut,aber bei dem Preis überlegt man sich das mehr als einmal.

All started out very well, and we were excited to start the build. Unfortunately got a few hours into the build only to find out a brick was missing, which was integral part to the build. Unfortunately ruined our experience of a very expensive piece of lego. Contacted lego and shipment has been sent out of a replacement brick, but going to take a few weeks to arrive. So a very expensive pile of lego is sat doing nothing spoiling a child’s birthday. Apart from that, I’m sure it will look great in the games room once we are able to resume the build.

Needless to say he’s a happy hubby. Only problem is that the instructions come in a book that looks like a 1980s Yellow Pages, so he ditched it in favour of the e-version on his tablet.
