I will be honest, I have not read all the text of this book. However I have looked at all the photos and I am looking forward to studying them in detail. To see the earth from ‘above’ is wonderful. I can recommend this book as I have no chance and I am sure it is safe to say readers of this review (unless Tim reads it) will not have a chance of seeing it themselves.

Received today , I ordered this after following the mission on the official Facebook page and marvelling at the photos taken by Tim .. this book is like sitting beside him when he took them , breathtaking in their beauty , wonderfully reproduced , and narrated in a language anyone can understand , ideal for adults and older children to browse through , well worth the money and nice to know the proceeds. Go to a worthwhile charity. My only suggestion would be maybe a larger version be made available where the photos are not split onto two pages , as it spoils the shots to a small degree . But for the money I can’t really make much of it .

I bought this for my niece (12) along with two other Tim Peake books at Christmas…..she is interested in all things space. When asked, she said this was the least interesting book of the three but the photographs are good…… I think she prefers a lot more facts. It’s a nicely presented book and I flicked through it before wrapping it….a nice coffee table book in my opinion.

In tempi di Covid ci ricorda le bellezze che purtroppo ora non possiamo vedere. L’ho regalato e poi acquistato per me! Ricordiamo che il mondo è un luogo bello e speciale…

I bought this book for my son, who is an Aerospace Engineering graduate and a big Tim Peake fan. I have the hard cover copy of the book and the printing on the cover is excellent and vibrant. The book measures 23,5cm x 23.5cm x 2cm.

This is astronaut Tim Peake’s first book. The book is full of beautiful photographs in full colour and the introduction 4 pages long. From the ISS he can see over 1000 km in any direction and his explanation of passing over the French Alps he could see a view stretching from Greece to the UK with just a turn of the head makes you realise just how amazing his journey must have been. He references the camera (Nikon D4) that he used and goes into detail about that.

The back of the book has an entire page with reference to each location of the photograph. This book is ideal for anyone who loves space and especially great to show children and use this book in schools.

The ISS is packed with cutting edge technology including wi-fi and the internet connection to Earth via a satellite (it was very slow).

The book outlines his mission with a sketch covering two pages in the book, from 15 December 2015 (launch day) right through to the 18th June 2016 when he eventually gets back home.

The photographs are breathtaking and the text for each page is roughly 4 lines with many pages referencing many interesting facts about the locations. For example, Emi Koussi volcano which is at the top of one of the pictures, the highest mountain in the Sahara, and the 345 million year old Aorounga impact crater in Chad (bottom of the picture). There is a short description of the picture/photograph and then a small picture showing the location on a map.

I am so happy I bought it and hope my son is going to love it too.

      I have added photographs.

Glossy quality book with stunning photos and some info about each one. I bought it for my husband as he is a keen amateur astronomer and we would watch the ISS go over in the night sky when Tim was on board.
He would have preferred a few more photos of the stars and constellations as seen from the station included, otherwise lovely book to treasure

Book in excellent condition- very pleased

I bought the kindle version and am very happy with it. Many of the pictures take up 2 pages of a book per picture, and so 2 pages will appear on one tablet screen (lateral orientation) to show these large pictures. Each of these large pictures look like one big and nice picture in my tablet. I have 9 inch and 10 inch tablets and they look great on both tablets. It is a great picture book!
