    1. NatMatt

This is a great version of a classic game, with all the royal twists you could shake a stick at. Even the classic monopoly pieces are replace with royal appropriate pieces, like corgi’s etc.

Had a few good hours of laughter so far with this game, and many more in the future. If you love monopoly, and you’re either a fan of the royal families or just find the whole thing funny, then this set is for you.

    2. Mr. John Burnett

Monopoly is the classic board game and now exists in a variety of forms. ‘Kings and Queens’ is the latest twist and is a bang up to date version based on British monarchy. The rules are exactly the same but houses and hotels become castles and palaces, Community Chest become Treasury cards. Instead of buying streets you buy monarchs (including Charles III). The cards are full of historical information making it a fun way to learn about the British monarchy. Easy to learn and lots of fun.

Monopoly is Monopoly and rarely are there any changes to the core game loop. So all the different variants, are just a “re-skin” of the original game. So if you’re expecting something totally different, this isn’t for you. But, if you enjoy the game and like collecting different versions of the same game, this is great.

      • New pieces
      • Property locations are now royal family members
      • Utilities are now castles
      • Etc.

Free parking and jail is still free parking and jail… Could have been something like the gallows for jail and something just as clever for parking.

Overall, the changes made are an entertaining take on the original and just as fun as the original. So of course I can recommend.

The ultimate classic board game! Monopoly is certainly a game for all ages young and old and with so many versions of the classic game this adds to the growing collection we have at home!
I think this game would also be great for all the royalist collectors out there or great for educational purposes too. From kings and queens past and present this certainly is the best game to have some time off the technology and play a board game with the family which I love!

      Kings & Queens Monopoly

Coronation themed version of the classic Monopoly game, which swaps the usual locations for Kings & Queens, has special money, metal royal symbol figures and castles & palaces (in place of houses, hotels). The basic gameplay (cost of sites, set location) isn’t changed.

For all that its a classic board game – Monopoly isn’t a great family game for a few reasons
      – firstly players get knocked out one by one by being made bankrupt until you have a final winner (which isn’t great for keeping everyone engaged and not surprising can be frustrating/anger inducing for knocked out players)
      – secondly the game can enter a stalemate if no-one can collect a full set of properties in the initial collecting phase (you need a full set to build houses to charge a meaningful rent), usually this ends up with horse trading – but being unlucky in this can massively impact the final winner
      – more generally its mainly luck, do you land on properties you can buy in collecting phase and later do you land/build on properties with massive rents due
      – would recommend Ticket To Ride or Settlers Of Catan as being much more replayable & enjoyable.

Assuming you want a copy of Monopoly this is a nicely put together set
      – you might learn a little bit of history (though only selected monarchs are included)
      – the royal theme is nicely followed through with pieces, money, castles etc
      – think they missed a trick by leaving the jail unchanged – surely this should be The Tower Of London & Free parking should show a Royal Coach

Overall – its a nice version of Monopoly, 4 stars.

Becoming a lion, swan, or even a corgi for a while is part of the charm. Hopping across the board, you’re greeted by familiar royal faces, their historical allure palpable. There’s a thrill in expanding an empire, each acquisition resonating with past glories. One minute you’re basking in royal coronation, the next, navigating through Chance and Treasury cards with bated breath. A word of caution – the competition can become fierce. It’s historical intrigue meets modern leisure!

    7. Trebor

The Kings & Queens of Britain set arrived safely and in perfect condition. The design and illustrations on the box, board and accessories look brilliant and it’s a fun unique twist to the classic board game.

I’ve only ever owned the normal monopoly set but this special edition plays in much the same way as the original only everything is themed around the British Monarchy and its history. I love the six different metal tokens/pieces you get, they look fantastic, and I especially like the lion!

What used to be train stations are now Monuments, the utility company is now Military Might and you can now get royal boons or sanctions from the card pickups. Instead of houses and hotels you can now build castles and palaces. Its also a fun way to learn about British history.

Overall, I think this would be a really cool set to own for anyone who loves all things British and it’s a great way to get children interested in the game as I’ve always felt the original is more aimed towards adults. For around £35 I feel it represents pretty good value for money, I’m more than happy to recommend it and I feels it’s worth the full five stars!

A classic spin on the already brilliant game on monopoly. Select your peice which are made from brass I believe. Buy your monarchs and places. Build up your empire and let the cash flow in as you bankcrupt your other players. Highly good quality made peices (shinny to) . Would definitely recommend if you are into your Kings and Queens.
