It was one of the first cocktail books I bought 10 years ago and many, many cocktail books later I still pick it up and flick through it.
An updated edition with some pictures would really be a treat.

I bought this as Christmas present to go with a Boston Cocktail set and I couldn’t resist a little flick-through… which turned into a lot of reading! I just had to buy another copy so I could keep one for myself.
The book is smaller in size than I thought it would be, but it turns out that good things really do come in small packages. Beautifully bound, it makes a lovely addition to the kitchen book shelf, or even in or by your drinks cabinet, which is where mine lives now.
The section on bar equipment and types of glasses at the front of the book is useful for beginners and any cocktail enthusiast, and the index at the back of the book is fantastic. You can find a drink either by name, or by the alcohol or liqueur that it contains. And next to some of the drinks (such as the classic Sidecar) there are even stories as to how the drink was created, which I found extremely interesting.
I honestly can’t recommend this book highly enough!

Bought as a present and wow, I’m so impressed!! The recipients have a lot of cocktail books already but this is their new favourite. Full of lots of recipes but also has an index at the back where you can look up an ingredient and find all of the recipes that include it! Great of you have the odd liqueur lying around and are not sure what to pair it with!

This book is stunning.
There is a section dedicated to the tools, then the spirits and mixers you should be sticking and, of course, the rest of the book is dedicated to getting you p***ed. In a classy way though.
No, it’s not just about that, of course.
The book is beautifully written, just a great addition to a drinks cabinet, bar, or anywhere really, it’s small and can fit anywhere.
Don’t let the size put you off, it’s a thick book and absolutely full of everything you need to know.
You won’t need any other book.
The reason I bought, originall, was for friend and she loved it so much, when I would visit her for an Espresso Martini, we’d look through the book for other delights, I thought to myself, why haven’t I got myself one of these. So made that happen and so glad I did. I love it
