While this is a good price for this set of tools, it doesn’t excuse the state of the plane that was included in my set.
The geometry of the chip iron, the hole in it for the depth adjuster, and the depth adjusting wheel mean that the blade can’t be fully retracted! Which means I cannot wind the blade back in enough to take fine cutes, nor can I flatten the sole with the plane assembled. Which renders the plane useless.
I only realized this after I started flattening the sole, then remembered to do it assembled. I may have wasted my money, as I don’t see any way to fix this. It’s just so badly made.

This plane appears to have been machined tolerably accurately however, when I received it, the adjustable mouth would not move. In the end I had to remove the sliding adjustment part with an old wood-chisel and hammer. I found that it had been accidentally glued into place with the black lacquer used to finish parts of the plane. A decent QC check before packing would have detected this issue before it left the factory!

Great value carpenters tool set. Other reviews state a different product arrived upon ordering but they must have rectified this problem as I received a full set. High quality and an excellent finish. They have a really premium look and feel about them and look the part in my workshop. Would highly recommend!

This woodworking set is useful. The marking and angle gauges is great. I checked the wood square with a machinist square. I’m a CNC machinist and it was square enough for me. The only issue I had was with the plane. I sharpened the blade and it planes wood very well. You can’t use the plane on a shooting board because the sides of the plane are not square. The side are out of square a big amount. The bottom of the plane was flat. The box it came in was chipped off on the inside. The box works but I had to glue it together. I’m glad I bought the set. If your using a shooting board. Try a different plane

Came damaged. Looks like whomever put the box together didn’t have all the parts anyway (see original photo in ad). Disappointing.

Bought as a gift and got some advice from joiner friend. Great value and superb tools. Made really well. Can’t believe all the tools and box which is also good quality is selling for 30 pounds.
